VIENNA CLASSICAL MUSIC ACADEMY 4th INTERNATIONAL CLASSICAL MUSIC COMPETITION “Spring” - 2023
COMPETITION RULES & REGULATIONS
1. The competition is open to musicians of all ages and nationalities
2. Applications are made according to the principles in this specification.
3. Competitors from the time this application, declared that it accepts all the rules of the competition and be deemed to have committed.
4. Participants can apply at www.viennaclassicalmusic.org, the official website, by uploading all the necessary documents from the application tab. The competition results will be published here on the competition page and social media pages of the Vienna Classical Music Academy.
5. Participants will apply with a maximum 15 minute YouTube link. There is no minimum time limit.
6. Participants must apply to the competition with a work of their choice. The selected works should be based on Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionist and Contemporary (not Pop, Jazz, etc.)
COMPETITION CONDITIONS
The contest will be held under 5 main instrument groups.
PIANO
PLUCKED INSTRUMENTS (harp - guitar)
STRING INSTRUMENTS (violin – viola – violoncello - double bass)
WOOD WIND INSTRUMENTS (flute – clarinet – oboe – bassoon- saxophone)
BRASS INSTRUMENTS (trumpet – trombone –horn – tuba)
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR PARTICIPATION
* ID of the participant.
* Resume and contact information of the participant (e-mail, telephone)
* Photo of the participant at least 300 dpi resolution
* YouTube link of the performance. Durations of the works limited to a maximum of 15 minutes (There is no minimum time)
* Confirmation letter and parental identity stating that he/she will participate in the contest received from his parents for participants under the age of 18.
* A receipt showing that the application fee for the competition has been paid by any of the options specified on the payment tab on the website.
* It is not possible for the competitors to impose any copyright or restriction on all audio and video recordings at each stage of the competition organized by the organization. All broadcasting rights of the content belong to the institution organizing the contest.
AGE GROUPS AND PARTICIPATION FEES FOR THE COMPETITION
Category A (75 Euros) Those born before 30.04.2005
Category B (75 Euros) Those born after 30.04.2005
PRIZE INFORMATION
All prize-winning contestants will receive their certificates at the award ceremony on 27.05.2023 at the
Palais Ehrbar - Ehrbar Saal in Vienna.
(Certificates will be sent digitally to all contestants who were awarded a prize but could not make it to Vienna.)
*All prize winners who have taken part in the competition will receive an admission ticket to the Mozarthaus. This ticket is only valid for the participant on 28.05.2023.
At the end of the competition in Category A Instrument Groups
(Piano-strings-woodwinds-brasses and plucked instruments)
Grand Prize: Among the winners of the 5 groups in Category A, 1 winner selected by the jury members will be awarded the Grand Prize. The winner of this prize will perform with the Vienna City String Chamber Orchestra at the award concert on 27.05.2023 at the Vienna Palais Ehrbar Concert Hall.
1st prize :15 minute recital performance right at the Palais Ehrbar Concert Hall in Vienna on 27.05.2023 and Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 first prize certificate. A professional audio and video recording of the concert will also be provided.
2nd prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 second prize certificate
3rd prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 third prize certificate
4th prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 Jury Special prize certificate
5th prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 Honorable Mention certificate
6th prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 Honorable Mention certificate
7th prize : Vienna Classical Music Academy Classical Music Category Spring 2023 Honorable Mention certificate
* Participants, there is no right to appeal to the competition process and results.
* Award winners cannot transfer their rewards and rights to others.
* All participants who have won a degree in the competition are invited to the concert and award ceremony. Accommodation, transportation, and all kinds of expenses belong to them.
*All participants are responsible for obtaining an accompanist when needed for rehearsals or recitals, and Vienna Classical Music Academy can provide a list of accompanists.
At the end of the competition in Category B Instrument Groups

JURY EVALUATION
*The works will be evaluated by the determined juries and the decisions made are final and cannot be changed.
*The jury is not required to provide personal feedback and comments on participating performances..
*Contact about the competition with the members of the jury is definitely a reason for disqualification.
